Larry D. Turner

Larry D. Turner was the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Labor, nominated by President Joe Biden and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He served from December 2021 until he was fired by President Donald Trump in January 2025, leading an independent oversight organization with a $110 million budget and 350 professionals through the largest pandemic fraud recovery in the department's history.

His career of service began in the U.S. Army, where he served twenty‑four years on active duty and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, followed by twenty‑one years as a federal civilian employee. He holds degrees from Morgan State University, Golden Gate University, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and is a graduate of the Harvard University Senior Executive Fellow Program.

Larry is now President of LT3 Inc., a nonprofit he and his wife Lottie founded to serve underserved communities. They live in Stafford, Virginia.
